Highlights

A trip to Humantay lake, through the local indigenous peoples of Iscuchaca and Limatambo, communities that still keeping the Inca´s traditions alive, such as the famous ritual of the Apacheta. This makes it one of the most picturesque treks that this Salkantay route shows us, The incredible turquoise lake is located at the base of the majestic glacier covered mountain range. The views are absolutely majestic and impressive for all those tourists who come to it and for a long time the lagoon it´s being part of the tourist route of several days through the snowy Salkantay.

CHANGES: Due to the pandemic, you can make changes to your reservation up to 48 hours before your trip at no additional cost.

NO SHOW AND CANCELLATIONS: If you cancel 30 days before the trip before 6:00 pm (Lima time), a 60% administrative charge will be applied. After this time, there is a cancellation or no show charge of 100%.

PRE -Departure Briefing - Cuzco

Briefing with the guide of the route
This is a day prior to the tour, a brief talk will be given to all travellers for approximately 20 to 30 minutes where each point of the trip will be explained in detail, any doubts will be answered and finally they will be given the respective recommendations such as: what clothes should I bring, can I bring my suitcase, is it hot on the route, etc.

Guided Visit to Humantay Lake - Cuzco - Soraypampa - Humantay Lake - Cuzco

Transport to Mollepata for about 2 hrs.
Pick up from the hotel will start at 4:30 am. Once we have met our fellow travellers, we will board the transport and travel for about two hours until we reach Mollepata. There we will have breakfast at the border of the municipality of Cuzco before continuing on to Soraypampa which will be the starting point of our trek.

1h 30m walk up to the Humantay lagoon
When we arrive at Soraypampa, we will begin to ascend the 300m to the Humantay lagoon, which will take us approximately 1hr 30 minutes on foot. When we reach the lagoon, we will be rewarded with a beautiful panorama of this place. We will not only be able to admire the Salkantay glacier (which reaches 5450m asl), but also the Villcamba mountain range. After a rest and free time of 1hr to walk around the place, we will prepare for the descent to Soraypampa.

Buffet lunch in Mollepata and return to Cuzco.
When we return to Soraypampa, we can explore the place a little and visit the trail and the view of the Salkantay mountain. This is the second largest mountain in the entire Cusco region. After our short visit, we will head to Mollepata to share a buffet lunch before taking the bus back to Cusco. We will arrive at Plaza San Francisco around 18 : 30 PM in the evening.
